Salem United Methodist Church - Sunday School Classes

Offered every Sunday at 10 AM to all!

September 4th starts a new year on the Sunday school calendar.  We have a knowledgeable and faithful group of Sunday School Teachers that we appreciate and thank graciously for their time and talents in Christian Education to our young and “older” alike.  They are looking forward to our new Bible lessons, old faces, returning faces and hopefully many new faces.

Sunday School is a nourishing time --- a time to “fuel-up” as fellow believers, to read and study God’s Word, to ponder and share its implications for our physical and spiritual lives.  It is also a time of building relationships/friendships in our every day walk with fellow Christians.

Classes are as follows:

3 - 4 Year Olds       Teachers:  Tom Daniels and Joanne Cox

Location:  Church building, first  room off hallway behind  sanctuary -  Fall Focus:  Genesis  (Creation, Noah, Abraham and Sarah)

K – 3rd Grade         Teachers:  Kristie Gonzalez and Darlene McRoy

Location:  Church building, middle room off hallway behind sanctuary - Focus:       Old Testament Pillars  (Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob and Joseph

4th – 5th Grade        Teachers:  Yvonne Carroll and Lisa McRoy

Location:  Church building, far corner off hallway behind sanctuary - Focus:       Lessons based on Genesis 28 :15  --“Know that I am with You and will keep you wherever you go.”

Jr. High                  Teachers:  Tracy Cratt, Jim Hinson , LaVonne Donat

Location:   Church building, upstairs, far room, behind sanctuary - Focus:        Book of Acts --- “You will be my witnesses.”

High School           Teachers:   Ken Jones

Location:    Fellowship Hall, middle room off hallway - Focus:        Old Testament: Creation through Abraham and Covenant

Spares & Pairs      Teachers:   Ricky Cratt, Doug Barnum, Katrina Hinson,Mike McKeel and Charles Rankin

Location :   Church building, room top of stairs behind sanctuary - Focus:  David C. Cook "Bible-In-Life" series:  Where We Hurt, What We Need, and How We Relate. Bible texts from Psalms,Proverbs,Ecclesiastes & Song of Songs

Believers       Teachers:  Kathy Smith, Melissa Mayo, Alison Hollowell

Location:      Paramore Youth Center (white building behind the church)   Focus: We believe that Jesus died to save us from our sins.  We believe that we can accomplish and overcome all things with the guidance of Jesus Christ.  

Adult Class             Teachers:  Evonne Boyd, Leonard VanStaalduinen, Joyce Owens, Nile Dail, Rebecca Thomas

Location:   Fellowship Hall, main large room - Focus:        Book of Acts   (Paul’s 3  missionary journeys and the spread of the Gospel)

Senior Class           Teachers:   Win Donat , Mary Leggett,  Dawson Nethercutt, George Dentel, John Smith

Location:    Fellowship Hall, end room off hallway - Focus:        Book of Acts  (Paul’s 3 missionary journeys and the spread of the Gospel)
